Let's Start From the Beginning, shall we?
We bought this home from arguably the cutest family in Albuquerque. A pastor, his wife, and their adorable 4 children. When we showed up for the home inspection, the wife had BAGS of fresh peaches from a neighbor that we helped her unload! I mean...the good energy filled that home before it was even final.
I also loved a lot of the decorating choices made by the family. The couple is originally from the eastcoast, so it has that New England feel to it. Yep...all the way here in New Mexico.
So, take a look at how the home looked when we first toured it. All I had to do was take one peek through an open window, and I knew it had to be mine!
The original shots:
The green isn't as GREEN in person...but there are plans to change it. That also means a possible trip to the hospital if Cody falls off the roof. Say a prayer.
This room has already lost its green. We had it painted Sherwin Williams Mega Greige.
Pictures coming soon.
The idea to have a professional do it was my mother's. That was due to the fact that there are cathedral ceilings. She didn't want Cody to fall off the ladder. Thanks Ma
This is the formal dining room. They used it as a den for the kids. Again, could they be more adorable? What you can't see in this pic is the ceiling has some awesome detail. BIG plans for that.
These are textured concrete countertops.
The laundry room. We had to get a new washer/dryer because these didn't come with the home. I also have already done stuff to this room. A post on that coming soon.
The Master Bedroom. We're going to paint, first and foremost. And the closet is a DREAM. Would you believe I don't even need a "get ready room" anymore? Believe it.
I'll have the photos to prove it.
Master Bath (has a great huge tub with a cute window)\
Here they go again, that family. Being adorable. A pink bedroom for the 2 girls aaaand.....
a yellow bedroom for the 2 boys. Both rooms will be getting a paint job. And future guests...this yellow beaute is your quarters.
Half bath downstairs
This is one of the main reasons we bought the house. THE YARD. Kentucky blue grass, maintained and obviously loved intensely. Cody shares that love. This will be his baby.
And check out the fire pit and built-in brick and wood seating below...
So...a great start. But I have plans for every room! (even down to the doorknobs)
Also, coming ASAP is a much needed blog makeover.
We HAD to have grass when we moved to NM and babied it like crazy when we lived there. You just can't come from the east coast and not need your grass. Enjoy it! The house looks so fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Angela! We are sooo excited about the grass...we just might feel the pinch when the water bill comes :(
